Enjoyable palour games (cont.) E-Tuk (Scoop
It Up)
| ........Enjoyable game with tamarind or custard
apple seeds. Children kept these leftovers in
boxes and prized them as if they were gold and
silver. To play the game, these young players
would gather the seeds, draw a circle, and make a
scoop out of oblong cardboard by wrapping up its
two opposite sides. To start the game a player
would strew the seeds into the circle. Each would
take turn to scoop up the amount of seeds
approved by the players. That is, if they agreed
to pick up one seed at a time, they must try to
scoop it up without touching the others, or else
they would lose their turn. Any player who got
most of the seeds would be the winner, and could
keep them as a reward. |
