For girls. The material used to make a Ta-ping was according to the financial status of the family. For instance, ordinary folks made ta-ping out of coconut shell, while the middle or upper class preferred red gold, silver, or gold for their children's ornament.

Generally boys put a band threaded with tiny Tao or Pla around his waist. These were believed to have magical power to protect the child. In some cases, a number of Paludkik (a small replica of male part) were woven instead.

Bracelets and anklets

Gamlai (Bracelets and anklets)
Thai children wore bracelets and anklets, which indicated the social status of the parents. Sometimes people tied blessed cords around the children's wrist to pacify their soul and to protect them from misfortune.
